Something to look forward to will be a re-launch of the *webcomic* for books 1 and 2 later this summer in anticipation for the release of book 3 in 2024. I’ve always had the intention of getting this back online (but you know–publishers). So I’m real happy that’s going to be a thing soon.

I have two secret things I can now pour my energy into, but it’s bittersweet to not be actively working on VERSE any longer.

mrsackxrman:

It’s very interesting how some mangakas, authors in general, speak of their characters as if they’re alive and have minds of their own—as if they’re in control of their own fate. Sometimes they’re even taken aback by their actions, intrigued by their choices, and unable to answer even the simplest questions regarding some of their feelings and motives. I guess characters do take matters into their own hands, even surprising their creators in the process, whose sole role becomes to follow them down whichever path they set on and narrate their predetermined stories.

my thoughts around ai art come down to the fact that in the place i live (canada, north america) we simply don’t value art. Like I’m not talking about some old dead guys paintings or even your fav cartoon. Art is literally part of everything and in school we boil it down to one class that becomes an elective as soon as you turn 13.

imagine if there was a concerted effort to teach art in its MANY facets to people at a young age. I don’t feel defeated thinking about ai art being able to replicate me perfectly in 3 years. I’m just sad that absolutely nobody will have the critical thinking and passion to care about what’s being shown to them when that happens.
